PDM-15
PDM-15-PASSENGER MIRROR VERTICAL SENSOR CIRCUIT OPEN
For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical
- When Monitored:
Continuously.
- Set Condition:
If the voltage on the Passenger Mirror Vertical Position Signal circuit is above 4.1 volts for over 10 seconds, this code will set.
Diagnostic Test
1. STORED DTC
With the scan tool, erase the DTC from the Passenger Door Module.
Operate the passenger's power mirror and memory system.
Turn the ignition switch to the Off position then start the engine and let run for one minute.
With the scan tool check for the same DTC to return in the PDM.
Did the same DTC return?
Yes
- Go To2
No
- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Body Verification Test
2. (P64) PASSENGER MIRROR VERTICAL POSITION SIGNAL
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Passenger Outside Rearview Mirror connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage of the (P64) Passenger Mirror Vertical Position Signal circuit in the Passenger Outside Rearview Mirror harness connector.
Is the voltage between 4.5 and 5.5 volts?
Yes
- Go To3
No
- Go To6
3. (P66) PASSENGER MIRROR SENSOR GROUND
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Passenger Outside Rearview Mirror connector.
Measure the resistance of the (P66) Passenger Mirror Sensor Ground circuit in the harness connector to ground.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes
- Go To4
No
- Go To5
4. PASSENGER MEMORY MIRROR
If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
Repair
- Replace the Passenger Power Mirror.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Body Verification Test
5. (P66) PASSENGER MIRROR SENSOR GROUND WIRE
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Passenger Outside Rearview Mirror connector.
Disconnect the Passenger Door Module C3 connector.
Measure the resistance of (P66) Passenger Mirror Sensor Ground circuit between the Passenger Door Module connector and the Passenger Outside Rearview Mirror connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes
- Replace the Passenger Door Module.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Body Verification Test
No
- Repair the open (P66) Passenger Mirror Sensor Ground circuit.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Body Verification Test
6. (P64) PASSENGER MIRROR VERTICAL POSITION SIGNAL WIRE
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Passenger Outside Rearview Mirror connector.
Disconnect the Passenger Door Module C3 connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage of (P64) Passenger Mirror Vertical Position Signal circuit.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Repair the (P64) Passenger Mirror Vertical Position Signal circuit for a short to voltage.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Body Verification Test
No
- Go To7
7. (P64) PASSENGER MIRROR VERTICAL POSITION SIGNAL WIRE OPEN
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Passenger Door Module C3 connector.
Disconnect the Passenger Power Mirror connector.
Measure the resistance of the (P64) Passenger Mirror Vertical Position Signal circuit from the Passenger Outside Rearview Mirror connector to the Passenger Door Module connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes
- Replace the Passenger Door Module.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Body Verification Test
No
- Repair the open (P64) Passenger Mirror Vertical Position Signal wire.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Body Verification Test
