Hazard Battery Power Open







HAZARD BATTERY POWER OPEN

For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical

- When Monitored:
BCM is active.

- Set Condition:
When input voltage status is low.





Diagnostic Test

1. OPEN FUSE
Turn the ignition off.
Check the Hazard Switch fuse in the IPM.
Is the fuse open?

Yes

- Go To2

No

- Go To3

2. (L91) HAZARD SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND




Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the BCM harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (L91) Hazard Switch Sense circuit.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (L91) Hazard Switch Sense circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Body Verification Test

No

- The condition that caused the symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring for a possible intermittent condition. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Body Verification Test

3. BODY CONTROL MODULE
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the BCM harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the (L91) Hazard Switch Sense circuit.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?

Yes

- Replace and program the Body Control Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Body Verification Test

No

- Go To4

4. (L91) HAZARD SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT OPEN
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the IPM and BCM harness connectors.
Measure the resistance of the (L91) Hazard Switch Sense circuit between the IPM connector and the BCM connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

Yes

- Replace the Integrated Power Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Body Verification Test

No

- Repair the (L91) Hazard Switch Sense circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Body Verification Test
