DOME SWITCH INPUT OPEN-BCM

Diagnostic Test
1. INTERMITTENT CONDITION
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, clear all BCM DTC's.
Turn the Dome Lamps on.
With the scan tool, read the DTC information.
Does the scan tool display: Dome Switch Input Open?
Yes
- Go To2
No
- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
2. (E2) PANEL LAMPS DIMMER SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Body Control Module C5 harness connector.
Disconnect the Headlamp Switch harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the (E2) Panel Lamps Dimmer Signal Circuit.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes
- Go To3
No
- Repair the (E2) Panel Lamps Dimmer Signal Circuit for an open condition.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
3. BODY CONTROL MODULE
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Body Control Module C5 harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage of the (E2) Panel Lamps Dimmer Signal circuit.
Is the voltage below 4.8 volts?
Yes
- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the Headlamp Switch.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
