IPM-5B-DOOR NODE POWER RELAY OPEN

- When Monitored:
When the output is off.
- Set Condition:
If the IPM senses that there is no voltage for over one second on the Door Node relay control circuit, this code will set.
Diagnostic Test
1. DTC PRESENT
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
Turn the ignition off, wait 30 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
NOTE: If there are any Ignition or Ignition Switch related codes present, perform the tests for those codes before proceeding.
Does the scan tool display: 5B-DOOR NODE POWER RELAY OPEN?
Yes
- Go To2
No
- The condition that caused the symptom is not currently present. Search for any Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) that may apply. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
2. IPM OPEN
Turn the ignition off.
Remove the Door Node Relay from the IPM.
Using a 12-volt test light, connect one lead to cavity 85 and the other lead to cavity 86 in the Door Node Relay connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Replace the Door Node Relay.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the IPM .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
