IPM-50-HORN RELAY SHORT TO BATTERY

- When Monitored:
Continuously.

- Set Condition:
The output is on and a short to battery condition exists. Time to mature 1 second.





Diagnostic Test

1. DTC PRESENT
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
Turn the ignition off, wait 30 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: 50-HORN RELAY SHORT TO BATTERY?

Yes

- Go To2

No

- The condition that caused the symptom is not currently present. Search for any Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) that may apply. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Body Verification Test

2. HORN RELAY
Turn the ignition off.
Install a substitute relay in place of the Horn Relay.
With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: 50-HORN RELAY SHORT TO BATTERY?

Yes

- Replace the IPM.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Body Verification Test

No

- Replace the Horn Relay.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Body Verification Test
