Zone Circuit Shorted To Ground - (MTC)

ZONE CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND - MTC

- When Monitored:
When the Actuator Circuit Test is executed.

- Set Condition:
This message will set if the A/C Heater Control detects a short low on the Zone Door Driver circuit.





1. ACTIVE HVAC DTC(S) PRESENT
Turn the ignition on.
Using the scan tool, clear all HVAC DTC's.
Using the A/C Heater Control, operate the Zone Door Actuator.
With the scan tool, check for DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes

- Go To2

No

- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

2. (C61) ZONE DOOR DRIVER (A) CIRCUIT SHORTED LOW




Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector.
Disconnect the Zone Door Actuator harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (C61) Zone Door Driver (A) circuit.
Does the ohm meter read open circuit?

Yes

- Go To3

No

- Repair the (C61) Zone Door Driver (A) circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

3. ZONE DOOR ACTUATOR SHORTED
NOTE: When test is complete clear all HVAC codes.

Reconnect A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, check for DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes

- Replace the A/C Heater Control.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Replace the Zone Door Actuator.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.�
