Passenger Blend Door Travel Too Large (ATC)







PASSENGER BLEND DOOR TRAVEL TOO LARGE (ATC)

For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.

- Set Condition:
The Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) monitors the door's range of travel during system initialization. If the measured range is greater than expected, the DTC will set.





Diagnostic Test

1. DOOR NOT RESPONDING DTC(S) SET
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read the active ATC DTCs.
Are any Door Not Responding DTCs set?

Yes

- Diagnose and repair the DTC(s).
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To2

2. DOOR ACTUATOR
Turn the ignition off.
Remove the applicable Door Actuator from the A/C-Heater Housing assembly.
By hand, attempt to rotate the Actuator in both directions.
Does the actuator turn in either direction?

Yes

- Replace the Door Actuator.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To3

3. DOOR LINKAGE/DOOR
Turn the ignition off.
Remove the applicable Door Actuator from the A/C-Heater Housing assembly.
Inspect the door linkage for excessive wear, disconnected, missing, and broken linkage. Also, inspect for a warped or broken door.
Rotate the door from stop to stop. The door should rotate approximately 45 degrees.
Were any mechanical problems found?

Yes

- Repair or replace the door/linkage as necessary.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Replace the Automatic Temperature Control (ATC).
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
