Front Blower Relay Open

FRONT BLOWER RELAY OPEN

- When Monitored:
With the ignition off.

- Set Condition:
If the Integrated Power Module (IPM) detects an open on the Front Blower Motor Relay Control circuit. This condition must be present for at least one second.





Diagnostic Test

1. CHECK (A1) B(+) CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN TO FRONT BLOWER RELAY
Turn the ignition off.
Remove the Front Blower Relay from the IPM.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, probe cavity 85 of the blower relay connector.
Does the test light illuminate?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Check the (A1) B(+) circuit to the IPM for an open. If open, repair as necessary. Otherwise, replace the IPM.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

2. CHECK IF DTC RESETS WITH SUBSTITUTE RELAY INSTALLED
Install a substitute relay in place of the existing Front Blower Relay.
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, erase IPM DTCs.
Turn the ignition off, wait 30 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read IPM DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes

- Replace the IPM.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Replace the original Front Blower Relay.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
