Common Driver Shorted To IGN Or BAT (MTC)

COMMON DRIVER SHORTED TO IGN OR BATT (MTC)

- When Monitored:
When the Actuator Circuit Test is executed.

- Set Condition:
This message will set if the A/C Heater Control detects a short high on the Common Door Driver circuit.





1. ACTIVE HVAC DTC(S) PRESENT
Turn the ignition on.
Using the scan tool, clear all HVAC DTC's.
Using the A/C Heater Control, operate the each of the Door Driver circuits (Common, Driver Blend, Mode, Passenger Blend, & Recirc).
With the scan tool, check for DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes

- Go To2

No

- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

2. DOOR ACTUATOR SHORTED
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect each door actuator harness connector one at a time checking to see if the DTC resets after each disconnect.
Does the DTC reset after each actuator has been disconnected?

Yes

- Go To3

No

- Replace the door actuator that caused the code not to set when disconnected,.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

3. (C34) COMMON DOOR DRIVER (B) CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE




Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the A/C Control Head C1 harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage on the (C34) Common Door Driver circuit.
Is there any voltage present?

Yes

- Repair the (C34) Common Door Driver circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Replace the A/C Heater Control.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
