DDM-5B-LIN WINDOW MOTOR OVERTEMPERATURE

- When Monitored:
During a window operation command.
- Set Condition:
The LIN module has detected an overheated condition in the motor for over one second.
Diagnostic Test
1. DTC PRESENT
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
Cycle the ignition switch from Off to Run.
Operate the driver window switch in all positions several times.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display 5B-LIN WINDOW MOTOR OVERTEMPERATURE?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition that caused this code to set is not present at this time. Operate the motor several times more to ensure it does not fail. If the code returns, replace the Driver Window Motor (regulator).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
2. MOTOR OVERHEATED
Allow the window motor to rest for at least ten minutes from the last time it was operated.
With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
Cycle the ignition switch from Off to Run.
Run the window motor all the way down then all the way up. Hold the switch in full up position for one second after the window reaches the full up position. Repeat this step two more times.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display 5B-LIN WINDOW MOTOR OVERTEMPERATURE?
Yes
- Replace the Driver Window Motor (regulator).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
No
- Test complete.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
