DDM-49-DRIVER REAR WINDOW SWITCH MUX INPUT OPEN/SHORT VOLTAGE





For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical

- When Monitored:
Continuously.

- Set Condition:
If the Driver Rear Window Switch Mux circuit is over 4.9 volts for over 1 second, this code will set.





Diagnostic Test

1. DTC PRESENT
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
Cycle the ignition switch from Off to Run.
Check for any possible obstructions with the rear switch and correct if necessary.
Operate the Rear Window Switch in all positions several times.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display 49-DRIVER REAR WINDOW SWITCH MUX INPUT OPEN/SHORT TO VOLTAGE?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The condition that caused this code to set is not present at this time. Operate the rear switch several times to ensure it does not stick. If the switch ever sticks, replace it.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

2. (Q1) DRIVER REAR WINDOW SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT VOLTAGE
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool in Sensors, read the REAR WINDOW SWITCH voltage.
Select the voltage displayed.

4.4 to 5.1 volts.

- Go To 3

Over 5.2 volts

- Go To 5

3. (Q1) DRIVER REAR WINDOW SWITCH MUX WIRE OPEN




Disconnect the Driver Rear Window Switch connector.
Measure the voltage between the (Q1) Driver Rear Window Switch Mux circuit and body ground.
Is the voltage between 4.4 and 5.1 volts?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- Repair the Driver Rear Window Switch Mux wire for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

4. (G983) DRIVER REAR WINDOW SWITCH GROUND WIRE OPEN




Turn the ignition off.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the (G983) Ground circuit in the switch connector.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?

Yes

- Replace the Rear Window Switch.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Repair the (G983) Driver Rear Window Switch Ground for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

5. (Q1) DRIVER REAR WINDOW SWITCH MUX WIRE SHORT TO VOLTAGE




Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Driver Door Module C3 connector.
Measure the voltage between (Q1) Driver Rear Window Switch Mux circuit and body ground in the DDM C3 connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Is there any voltage present?

Yes

- Repair the (Q1) Driver Rear Window Switch Mux circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Replace the Driver Door Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
