PRNDL Message Not Received

PRNDL MESSAGE NOT RECEIVED

For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.

- Set Condition:
The Hands Free Module does not receive a gear selector message from the PCM/TCM.





Diagnostic Test

1. ATTEMPT TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE PCM (TCM)
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, attempt to communicate with the PCM (TCM).
Was the scan tool able to I/D or communicate with the PCM?

Yes

- Go To2

No

- REFER TO COMMUNICATION. No Response From PCM (Powertrain Control Module)
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

2. HANDS FREE MODULE
With the scan tool, erase DTC's.
Cycle the ignition switch from off to on and wait approximately 1 minute.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Did this DTC reset?

Yes

- Replace the Hands Free Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Test Complete.
