PCM Messages Not Received







PCM MESSAGES NOT RECEIVED

For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical

- When Monitored:
When the Navigation Module is powered up.

- Set Condition:
If the Vehicle Speed message is not received, the NAV system will have the vehicle icon remain stationary. If no vehicle speed message is received for 2 seconds and the vehicle is in Drive, full programming will be disabled.





Diagnostic Test

1. DTC INTERMITTENT CONDITION
With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
Cycle the ignition switch from on to off and then back to on.
Turn the Navigation System on and try to select a location.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display PCM MESSAGES NOT RECEIVED?

No

- The condition is not present at this time. Monitor scan tool parameters while wiggling the related wire harness. Search for any Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) that may apply. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connector terminals.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

Yes

- Go To2

2. PCM DTC PRESENT

NOTE: Diagnose and repair any PCM DTCs present before proceeding with this test.

Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool monitor the Vehicle Speed while moving the vehicle.
Does the scan tool display Vehicle Speed correctly?

Yes

- With the scan tool, erase DTCs. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read DTCs. If this code resets, replace the Navigation Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Repair as required.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
