No Communication With SDARS - Radio

NO COMMUNICATION WITH SDARS - RADIO

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.

- Set Condition:
The module misses 5 successive periodic messages or has not received an in frame response after 3 consecutive retries.





1. CHECK FOR ADDITIONAL COMMUNICATION RELATED DTCs
With the scan tool, check for any other lost communication codes.
Is there any other Lost Communication DTCs present?

Yes

- Check the J1850 Communication Circuits for any possible short to ground, short to voltage or open conditions.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 2

2. (Z141) GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN




Disconnect the Radio C2 harness connector.
Disconnect the Satellite Receiver harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the (Z141) Ground circuit at the Satellite Receiver harness connector.
Is the resistance below 10.0 ohms?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Repair the (Z141) Ground circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

3. (X160) FUSED B+ CIRCUIT OPEN




Reconnect the Radio C2 harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Turn the Radio on and place the Radio in Satellite mode.
Measure the voltage of the (X160) Fused B+ circuit in the Satellite Receiver harness connector.
Is the voltage above 10.0 volts?

Yes

- Go To4

No

- Repair the (X160) Fused B+ circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

4. (X112) IGNITION RUN/ACC SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN




With the Radio still on and in Satellite mode.
Measure the voltage of the (X112) Ignition RUN/ACC Signal circuit in the Satellite Receiver harness connector.
Is the voltage above 10.0 volts?

Yes

- Go To5

No

- Repair the (X112) Ignition RUN/ACC Signal circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

5. (D25) PCI BUS CIRCUIT OPEN




Turn the ignition off.
Measure the resistance of the (D25) PCI BUS circuit between the Radio C2 harness connector and the Satellite Receiver harness connector.
Is the resistance below 10.0 ohms?

Yes

- Replace the Satellite Receiver.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Repair the (D25) PCI BUS circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
