No BCM Dimming Messages Received

NO BCM DIMMING MESSAGES RECEIVED

For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.

- Set Condition:
The Dimming and Lamp Code message from the BCM is missing.





Diagnostic Test

1. DTC IS ACTIVE
With the scan tool Erase DTCs.
Cycle the ignition off for at least 1 minute.
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool under System Tests, perform the Self Test.
With the scan tool read DTCs.
Does this DTC reset?

Yes

- Go To2

No

- Go To4

2. BCM MESSAGE PRESENT
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool under Monitors, refer to the Odo Msg Present, Dimming Msg Present, and Park Brake Msg Present status under Park Assist BUS INFO.
Does the scan tool indicate "Yes" that any of the messages are present?

Yes

- Replace the Park Assist Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To3

3. NO COMMUNICATION WITH BCM
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool attempt to establish communication with the BCM.
Can the scan tool establish communication with the BCM?

Yes

- Replace the Park Assist Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- REFER TO COMMUNICATION. No Response From BCM (Body Control Module)
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

4. INTERMITTENT CONDITION
The conditions necessary to set this DTC are not present at this time.
Using the wiring diagrams/schematics as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
While monitoring the scan tool data relative to this circuit, wiggle test the wiring and connectors.
Look for the data to change or for the DTC to reset during the wiggle test.
Were any problems found?

Yes

- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Test Complete.
