B1960-POWER LIFTGATE CHIME CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW

- When Monitored:
Whenever the Power Liftgate Module is activating the chime.
- Set Condition:
The power liftgate module has detected the chime circuit voltage is under 0.1 volts.
Diagnostic Test
1. DTC PRESENT
With the scan tool, record DTC's.
Erase DTC's
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
Operate the liftgate several times.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display B1960-POWER LIFTGATE CHIME CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
2. CHIME SHORTED
Disconnect the License Lamp connector.
Erase DTC's
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
Operate the Power Liftgate open and closed
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display B1960-POWER LIFTGATE CHIME CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Replace the Power Liftgate Chime.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
3. (Q94) LIFTGATE CHIME DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Power Liftgate Module C2 connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (Q94) Liftgate Chime Driver circuit.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?
No
- Replace the Power Liftgate Module.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
Yes
- Repair the (Q94) Liftgate Chime Driver circuit for a short to ground.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
