B195D-LIFTGATE LATCH CLUTCH DRIVER CIRCUIT HIGH

- When Monitored:
Whenever the Power Liftgate Latch is cinching or releasing.

- Set Condition:
The power liftgate module has detected the latch clutch driver circuit current is under 0.5 amps.





Diagnostic Test

1. DTC PRESENT
With the scan tool, record and erase DTC's.
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
Operate the liftgate several times.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: B195D-LIFTGATE LATCH CLUTCH DRIVER CIRCUIT HIGH?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

2. (Q83) LIFTGATE LATCH CLUTCH DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE




Disconnect the Liftgate Cinch/Release Motor connector.
Ensure the ignition is on
Measure the voltage between ground and the (Q83) liftgate Latch Clutch Driver circuit.
Is there any voltage present?

Yes

- Go To 5

No

- Go To 3

3. (Z245) GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN




Turn the ignition off.
Turn all lights off.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (Z245) Ground circuit.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

No

- Repair the (Z245) Ground circuit for an open.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

Yes

- Go To 4

4. (Q83) LIFTGATE LATCH CLUTCH DRIVER CIRCUIT OPEN




Disconnect the Power Liftgate Module C2 connector.
Measure the resistance of the (Q83) Liftgate Latch Clutch Driver circuit between the PLG C2 connector and the Liftgate Cinch/Release Motor connector.
Is the resistance below 2.0 ohms?

Yes

- Replace the Liftgate Cinch/Release Motor.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Repair the (Q83) Liftgate Latch Clutch Driver circuit for an open.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

5. (Q83) LIFTGATE LATCH CLUTCH DRIVER WIRE SHORT TO VOLTAGE




Disconnect the Power Liftgate Module C2 connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage between ground and the (Q83) Liftgate Latch Clutch Driver circuit in the Liftgate Cinch/Release Motor connector.
Is there any voltage present?

No

- Replace the Power Liftgate Module.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

Yes

- Repair the (Q83) Liftgate Latch Clutch Driver circuit for a short to voltage.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
