B195C-LIFTGATE LATCH CLUTCH DRIVER CIRCUIT LOW

- When Monitored:
Whenever the Power Liftgate Latch is cinching or releasing.

- Set Condition:
The power liftgate module has detected the clutch driver circuit current is over five amps.





Diagnostic Test

1. DTC PRESENT
With the scan tool, record and erase DTC's.
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
Operate the liftgate several times.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: B195C-LIFTGATE LATCH CLUTCH DRIVER CIRCUIT LOW?

Yes

- Go To2

No

- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

2. POWER LIFTGATE MODULE




Turn the ignition off.
Turn all lights off.
Disconnect the Power Liftgate Module C2 connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (Q83) liftgate Latch Clutch Driver circuit.
Is the resistance between 5.5 and 7.5 ohms?

Yes

- Replace the Power Liftgate Module.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 3

3. (Q83) LIFTGATE LATCH CLUTCH DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND




Measure the resistance between ground and the (Q83) Liftgate Latch Clutch Driver circuit.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

No

- Go To 4

Yes

- Repair the (Q83) Liftgate Latch Clutch Driver circuit for a short to ground.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

4. (Q83) LIFTGATE LATCH CLUTCH DRIVER WIRE SHORT TO THE (Q901) GROUND WIRE.




Disconnect the Liftgate Cinch/Release Motor connector.
Measure the resistance of the (Q83) liftgate Latch Clutch Driver circuit to the (Q901) Ground circuit in the PLG C2 connector.
Is the resistance below 100K ohms

Yes

- Repair the (Q83) Liftgate Latch Clutch Driver wire for a short to the (Q901) Ground wire.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Replace the Liftgate Cinch/Release Motor.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
