B18E5-POWER LIFTGATE FRONT ZONE SWITCH STUCK - BCM

- When Monitored:
Whenever the Body Control Module is awake.
- Set Condition:
When the Body Control Module senses voltage that is out of range on the (G25) Liftgate Switch Mux circuit for longer than 10 seconds, this code will set.
Diagnostic Test
1. DTC PRESENT
With the scan tool, record DTC's.
Erase DTC's
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
Operate the liftgate several times from the overhead switch.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display B18E5-POWER LIFTGATE FRONT ZONE SWITCH STUCK?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Check for a sticking switch condition. If the switch is all right, using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
Diagnostic Test
2. LIFTGATE RELEASE SWITCH STUCK
Disconnect the Overhead Module connector.
Erase DTC's
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Does the scan tool display B18E5-POWER LIFTGATE FRONT ZONE SWITCH STUCK?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Replace the Overhead Module assembly.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
3. (G25) LIFTGATE SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (G25) Liftgate Switch Mux circuit in the overhead module connector.
Is the resistance below 7000.0 ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (G25) Liftgate Switch Mux circuit for a partial short to ground.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
No
- Replace the Body Control Module.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
