B1892-POWER LIFTGATE CONTROL CIRCUIT 2 HIGH

- When Monitored:
Whenever the Power Liftgate Module is performing a power liftgate open or close cycle.

- Set Condition:
When the Power Liftgate Module senses voltage above 9.5 volts on the (Q89) Liftgate Close Driver circuit prior to starting a power liftgate open or close cycle, this code will set.





Diagnostic Test

1. DTC PRESENT
With the scan tool, record DTC's.
Erase DTC's
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
If possible, operate the liftgate several times.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display B1892-POWER LIFTGATE CONTROL CIRCUIT 2 HIGH?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

2. (Q89) LIFTGATE CLOSE DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE




Disconnect the Power Liftgate Module C1 connector.
Disconnect the Power Liftgate Drive Unit connector.
Measure the voltage between the (Q89) Liftgate Close Driver circuit and ground in the drive unit connector.
Is there any voltage present?

Yes

- Repair the (Q89) Liftgate Close Driver circuit for a short to voltage.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 3


3. (Q88) LIFTGATE OPEN DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE




Measure the voltage between the (Q88) Liftgate Open Driver circuit and ground in the drive unit connector.
Is there any voltage present?

Yes

- Repair the (Q88) Liftgate Open Driver circuit for a short to voltage.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 4


4. (Q88) LIFTGATE OPEN DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT TO (Q89) LIFTGATE CLOSE DRIVER CIRCUIT




Turn the ignition off.
Reconnect the Power Liftgate Drive Unit connector.
Measure the resistance between the (Q88) Liftgate Open Driver circuit and the (Q89) Liftgate Close Driver circuit in the PLGM C1 harness connector.
Is the resistance below 30 ohms?

No

- Replace the Power Liftgate Module.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

Yes

- Repair the (Q88) Liftgate Open Driver circuit for a short to the (Q89) Liftgate Close Driver circuit. If no obvious problems are found with the power liftgate drive unit and harness connector/wiring, replace the Power Liftgate Drive Unit.
- PERFORM BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
