Power Steering Pump - Installation

1. Position power steering pump on engine.
2. Install three power steering pump mounting bolts (2) using openings in pulley (1). Tighten pump mounting bolts to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).

NOTE: Before installing power steering pressure hose on power steering pump, replace O-ring on end of power steering pressure hose. Lubricate O-ring using clean power steering fluid.

NOTE: The tube nut on the pump end of the pressure hose is a quick-connect fitting.





3. Install pressure hose (2) into pump fitting. Thread pressure hose quick-connect fitting (tube nut) into pump and tighten to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).




4. Slide return hose (3) onto reservoir fitting and install clamp (2) securing it in place.
5. Install accessory drive belt. Accessory Drive Belt - Installation
6. Install air cleaner housing and hoses. Air Cleaner Housing - Installation
7. Connect negative (-) battery cable on negative battery post.
8. Fill and bleed power steering system. Service and Repair
9. Inspect for leaks.
