EGR Tube - Installation
3.8L
NOTE: Inspect rubber silicone seal for wear or cracks, replace as necessary. Make sure that the silicone rubber seal is undamaged during installation.
1. Install new silicone rubber seal to the intake manifold, if necessary.
CAUTION: DO NOT use air tools to install bolts to intake manifold. The intake manifold is made of plastic and it is critical to install bolts using hand tools only. Torque all fasteners to specification. The use of air tools can cause the threads of the intake manifold to become stripped.
2. Install the exhaust gas recirculate (EGR) tube and bolts to the intake manifold. Tighten bolts to 5.5 Nm (48.5 in. lbs.).
CAUTION: DO NOT use air tools to install bolts. Use hands tools only. The fasteners and threads of the components can be damaged if installed with Air tools.
3. Install EGR tube (2) and bolts (3) and gasket to the EGR valve (5). Tighten bolts to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
