NOTE: Hydraulic pressure in the convertible top system may deplete after 10 minutes. To prevent the top from lowering, press the convertible top switch momentarily after the system beeps. This will re-energize the hydraulic system.
1. Using an appropriate cleaner, remove any excess dirt and adhesive from the tonneau cover.
2. Remove the protective backing from the new rubrail, only around the hole for the rear bow striker (2).
3. Align the hole in the rubrail with the rear bow striker hole, and apply the rubrail (1) to the tonneau cover (3).
4. Spray one side of the tonneau cover with soapy water.
NOTE: Maintain a 2 mm (0.08 in.) gap (3) between the rear of the rubrail (1) and the edge of the tonneau cover recess radius (4).
5. Remove the protective backing from the rubrail (1) on the same side the soapy water was applied, and press the rubrail onto the tonneau cover (2).
6. Remove any excess fluid from behind the rubrail with an appropriate tool, such as a plastic scraper.
NOTE: It may be necessary to use a heat gun to secure the rubrail end.
CAUTION: Do not exceed 160° C (320° F) when heating the rubrail end, or damage to the rubrail and/or paint could result.
7. Wrap the end of the rubrail around the edge of the tonneau cover.
8. Repeat steps 5 through 7 for the other side of the rubrail.
9. Lower the tonneau cover and the rear bow, and check for proper alignment.
