Header Bow
HEADER BOW
NOTE: Hydraulic pressure in the convertible top system may deplete after 10 minutes. To prevent the top from lowering, press the convertible top switch momentarily after the system beeps. This will re-energize the hydraulic system.
NOTE: When installing the top catch/linkage, use the same number of shims that were present during removal. If that number is not known, start with two, test drive the vehicle for wind noise, and remove one-at-a-time until the windnoise is no longer present.
1. Install the top catch center linkage (1) to the header bow (2). Tighten bolts to 7.2 - 9.8 Nm (64-87 in. lbs.).
2. Install the left and right catch (1) to the header bow. Tighten bolts to 7.2 - 9.8 Nm (64-87 in. lbs.).
3. Install the release handle Installation.
4. Position the header bow to the 2nd rail and install the retainer pin and clip (1).
5. Position the header bow to the over-center linkage and install the retaining pin and clip.
6. Install the detent cable slide protectors (1) to the header bow.
7. Install both detent cables. Tighten bolts to 7.2 - 9.8 Nm (64-87 in. lbs.).
8. Install both top cover stay straps (2) to the header bow (1).
9. Connect both top cover support cables to the header bow and secure the top cover.
10. Position the top cover retainers (1) and install new rivets (2).
11. Lower the convertible top into the luggage compartment.
12. Install the top catch covers (2) to the header bow (1). Tighten screws to 4.25 - 5.75 Nm (38-51 in. lbs.).
13. Install the header bow weatherstrips.
14. Install the top cover retainer (1) and retaining screws (2). Tighten screws to 4.25 - 5.75 Nm (38-51 in. lbs.).
15. Operate the convertible top and check for correct operation.
