8002 - TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR/TRANSMITTER SIGNAL JAMMED





When Monitored and Set Condition

- When Monitored: With the ignition ON.
- Set Condition: If the Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) module cannot detect a frequency transmission from one or more of the Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitters, this DTC will be set.





Diagnostic Test

1. READING TPM DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES
NOTE: DTC 8002 will always be set in conjunction with one or more of the Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter Signal Jammed DTCs. Either 8009 (LF Tire), 8010 (RF Tire), 8011 (RR Tire), or 8012 (RF Tire) will be set along with the 8002 code.

NOTE: Some environmental factors can cause a disruption in the RF frequency signal. Check for RF frequency concerns and aftermarket accessories (cell phones, two way transmitters, etc.) that would compromise the RF frequency signal.

Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read and record the TPM DTCs.
Refer to the appropriate Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter Signal Jammed DTC for proper diagnostic and repair procedures.

Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter Signal Jammed DTC List:
- 8009 - Left Front Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter Signal Jammed

- 8010 - Right Front Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter Signal Jammed

- 8011 - Right Rear Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter Signal Jammed

- 8012 - Left Rear Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter Signal Jammed

Are any of the above DTCs active along with 8002?

Yes

- Perform the diagnostics for the active DTCs.

No

- Test complete. Check for any TSBs that may apply.
