B1B99- SEATBELT CINCH SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH
For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical.
- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.
- Set Condition:
If the Occupant Classification Module (OCM) detects voltage above the high threshold on the Passenger Seat Belt Tension Sensor Signal circuit.
Diagnostic Test
1. DETERMINE ACTIVE OR STORED DTC
NOTE: Ensure that the battery is fully charged.
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read OCM DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as ACTIVE or STORED?
ACTIVE DTC
- Go To 2
STORED DTC
- Clear all Stored DTCs, cycle the key off then on. If this DTC returns Go To 2
2. CHECK THE CIRCUIT VOLTAGE ON THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT TENSION SENSOR FEED CIRCUIT WITH PASSENGER SEAT BELT TENSION SENSOR HARNESS CONNECTOR DISCONNECTED
WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury, turn the ignition off, disconnect the battery and wait two minutes before proceeding.
Disconnect the BTS Sensor harness connector.
WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury, turn the ignition on, then reconnect the battery.
Measure the voltage on the Passenger Seat Belt Tension Sensor Feed circuit in the body side harness connector.
Is the Passenger Seat Belt Tension Sensor Feed circuit voltage above 5.5 volts?
Yes
- Replace the Passenger Seat Assembly.
- Perform *AIRBAG VERIFICATION TEST. Airbag System Verification Test
No
- Go To 3
3. CHECK THE CIRCUIT VOLTAGE ON THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT TENSION SIGNAL CIRCUIT WITH PASSENGER SEAT BELT TENSION SENSOR HARNESS CONNECTOR DISCONNECTED
Measure the voltage on the Passenger Seat Belt Tension Sensor Feed circuit in the body side harness connector.
Is the Passenger Seat Belt Tension Sensor Signal circuit voltage above 3.0 volts?
Yes
- Replace the Passenger Seat Assembly.
- Perform *AIRBAG VERIFICATION TEST. Airbag System Verification Test
No
- Replace the Passenger Seat Belt Tension Sensor.
- Perform *AIRBAG VERIFICATION TEST. Airbag System Verification Test
