Headliner - Removal






REMOVAL
1. Remove driver/passenger front seats and rear cushion.

2. Remove center console.

3. Remove the sun visors.

4. Remove sun visor supports.

5. Remove reading lamp.

6. If equipped, remove dome lamp.

7. Remove glove box from instrument panel.

8. Remove right and left A-pillar trim. Refer to Trim Panel.

9. Remove door sill trim.

10. Remove right and left upper B-pillar trim.

11. Remove front/rear assist handles and/or coat hooks.

12. Remove driver and passenger upper C-pillar quarter trim, as necessary.


NOTE: Please use clean gloves or ensure hands are clean before removing.






NOTE: Push pin is not reuseable.

13. Using Special Tool molding remover C-4829a to disengage headliner rear push pins (3) holding headlining to roof above rear window





14. Disconnect the sunroof module electrical connector (2), if equipped.





15. Pull down on headliner around sun roof to disengage headliner (2) if equipped.





16. Slowly, drop headliner (2) onto instrument panel.





17. Reach through glover box and disconnect headliner electrical connector (2) along A-pillar.






NOTE: Please make certain all terminal locations are noted before removal.

18. Back out terminals from connector (1).

19. Pull headliner harness through A-pillar opening.

20. Pull down on the rear of the map lamp and sun roof switch to disengage clips from roof panel, if equipped.


NOTE: Cover the floor of vehicle with a dirt free protective sheet of paper or plastic to prevent dirt from soiling headliner.

21. With the help of an assistant, lower headliner down and tilt it to its side, fabric side facing the passenger door. Feed the headliner out near the front edge of the front passenger door. The headliner may be angled to minimize contact to the door opening.
