Instrument Panel - Removal
REMOVAL
NOTE: Left hand shown. Right hand similar.
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative remote cable.
2. Remove the driver and passenger seats.
3. Remove center bezel.
4. Remove center console.
5. Remove the amplifier if equipped.
6. Remove left and right lower closeout panels.
7. Remove the cowl panel and remove from vehicle.
8. Remove steering column cover.
9. If equipped, remove knee blocker airbag.
10. Remove knee bolster panel.
11. Using trim stick C-4755, remove left and right defroster outlets.
12. Using trim stick C-4755, remove center outlets.
13. Disconnect instrument panel wiring harness (2 and 3).
14. Disconnect instrument panel module connectors (2 and 3).
15. Disconnect antenna wire connectors (2 and 4).
16. Remove cluster bezel.
17. Remove instrument panel cluster, fasteners, and cluster connectors.
18. Using trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, pry up on speaker grilles (1) and remove from instrument panel.
19. Remove instrument panel speakers.
20. Using trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, pry up on bezel, disconnect wire connectors and disengage clips removing radio bezel.
21. Remove radio.
22. Using a trim stick or equivalent, gently pry out on the left and right end cover and remove from vehicle.
23. Using a trim stick or equivalent, gently pry out on the right A-pillar trim and remove from vehicle.
24. Open the glove box. Pinch in on the sides and drop downward. Pull down to disengage hinges and remove from instrument panel.
25. Reach through glove box opening and disconnect air bag squib connectors and remove airbag.
26. Remove five screws and one wire connector to left lower instrument panel trim bezel
27. Remove the one left side, center instrument panel support bolt.
28. Remove one bolt to the left side support strut to bulkhead.
29. Disconnect the junction block wiring connectors.
30. Disconnect all the column wiring and unclip the harness from the steering column.
31. Remove steering column pinch bolt and remove steering column from vehicle.
32. Disconnect the transmission shift interlock and wire connector.
33. Remove instrument panel pad.

34. Remove fasteners (1, 2, and 3) attaching instrument panel.
35. With the help of an assistant, lift up instrument panel and move rearward to remove.
36. If replacing the instrument panel, transfer all non damaged parts and wiring harness to the new instrument panel assembly.
