Description

DESCRIPTION

The seat belt switch is a plunger-type sensor that is integral to the driver side front seat belt retractor. If equipped with the Occupant Classification System (OCS), the passenger seat belt retractor will include an integral sensor as well. The seat belt switch is connected to the vehicle electrical system through the body wire harness on vehicles with manual seat adjusters, or the power seat wire harness on vehicles with power seat adjusters. A radio noise suppression capacitor is connected in parallel with the integrated circuit where the two pigtail wire leads connect to the integrated circuit pins.

The seat belt switch cannot be adjusted or repaired and, if faulty or damaged, the entire seat belt retractor (driver or passenger) must be replaced.
