OVERVIEW:

MODELS:
2004 - 2007 (CS) Pacifica
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some customers may experience buzz or rattle sounds coming from the doors when operating the radio or CD. These sounds may be misinterpreted as speaker rattle.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the symptom/condition is present, perform the Repair Procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Following the procedures in DealerCONNECT > TechCONNECT remove all 4 door panels.
2. Remove the existing watershields and discard.
3. Using 3M adhesive cleaner or equivalent, clean the door panel to provide a clean surface for the new watershield.
4. Apply 3M Windo Weld (Ribbon Sealer) or equivalent to the watershield on the upper half of the outer circumference (where shield meets metal door skin) (Fig 1) and (Fig 2). The butyl should follow the upper outer circumference just inside the existing adhesive edge.
NOTE:
The upper half of the water shield must include the additional adhesive caulk to provide a good bond to the door.
5. Install the water shield onto the door. Using hand pressure, press the water shield onto the door for a good bond. Heat from a heat gun may be required to adhere the existing adhesive on the water shield to the lower section of the door.
NOTE:
Apply the water shield at room temperature 22°C (72°F) or higher for good adhesion.
6. Using a trim stick, remove the courtesy lamp from each front door panel. Add two small squares 10 x 10 mm (⅜ x ⅜ in) of flocked tape pn 05019055AA to the panel cutout as shown in (Fig 3).
7. Inspect the door panel and fastener locations for damage. If any are damaged replace as required. Make sure the correct fastener is positioned in the proper locations as shown in (Fig. 4 ) and (Fig. 5)
8. Reinstall the door panels following the procedures outlined in DealerCONNECT > TechCONNECT. Make sure the panels are securely and fully installed (fasteners fully seated).
