Refer to the exploded view as necessary when performing the following steps (Fig. 51).
Fig.52 Remove Differential Bearing Cone From Differential Case Side:
(1) Remove differential bearing cones (ring gear and differential case side) using Puller Press C-293(l) (Fig. 52), Adapter Blocks C-293-45 (3), and Adapter 4996 (2).
Fig.53 Pry Off Speedometer Drive Gear:
(2) Using a suitable screwdriver (2) (Fig. 53), pry off and remove speedometer drive gear (1).
Fig.54 Differential Ring Gear-to-Case Bolts:
(3) If servicing ring gear (3) (Fig. 54) as well, remove remaining ring gear-to-case bolts (2).
Fig.55 Differential Ring Gear And Case:
(4) If servicing ring gear (2) (Fig. 55) as well, remove remaining ring gear-to-case bolts and remove ring gear (2) from case (1).
