Throttle Body: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Disconnect negative cable from battery.
TPS And Inlet Air Temp, Sensor 2.7L:
2. Disconnect electrical connectors from throttle body.
3. Disconnect clean air hose from throttle body.
Throttle Shield 2.7L:
4. Remove the throttle cable shield.
Throttle Cables 2.7L:
5. Hold throttle lever in wide open position. Remove throttle cable and speed control cables from throttle arm.
6. Remove throttle cable bracket.
Throttle Body Support Bracket 2.7L:
7. Remove the throttle body support bracket from the bottom of the throttle body.
Throttle Body 2.7L:
8. Remove remaining 2 throttle body bolts.
9. Remove throttle body.
10. Clean mating surfaces.
INSTALLATION
1. Loose install 2 throttle body bolts (upper right and lower bolt).
2. Install the throttle cable bracket.
3. Install the third throttle body bolt and the throttle body support bracket to the bottom of the throttle body. Tighten the lower support bracket bolts to 31.1 N.m (23 ft. lbs.) torque.
4. Tighten throttle body bolts to 13.6 N.m (120 in. lbs.) torque.
5. Hold throttle lever in wide open throttle position. Install throttle cable and speed control cable.
6. Install the throttle cable shield.
7. Connect electrical connectors to throttle body.
8. Install clean air hose to throttle body.
9. Connect negative cable to battery.
