Forward Lateral Link

REAR SUSPENSION

REMOVAL - FORWARD LATERAL LINK

CAUTION: Do not attempt to straighten or repair a lateral link. Do not apply heat to the lateral link adjusting screws or to the jam nuts for any reason.

NOTE: The rear suspension lateral links are only serviced as complete assemblies. The isolator bushings used in the lateral links are not serviced as separate components.

(1) Raise and support vehicle.
(2) Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
(3) If equipped, remove the rear stabilizer bar link from the forward lateral link (Fig. 11).

(4) Remove the nut, bolt and washer attaching the forward lateral link to the knuckle (Fig. 11).

(5) Remove the nut and bolt attaching the lateral link to the rear suspension crossmember (Fig. 12).
(6) Remove the forward lateral link from the vehicle.
