Radiator Cooling Fan: Service and Repair

RADIATOR FAN(S)

REMOVAL
1. Remove upper radiator crossmember.

2. Disconnect radiator fan electrical connector (Fig. 24).
3. Remove fasteners and upper clip attaching fan assembly to radiator (Fig. 24).
4. Remove radiator fan assembly by lifting upward.

INSPECTION
Inspect fan blades for damage. If the fan blades are is warped, cracked, or otherwise damaged, it must be replaced with only the recommended replacement part for adequate strength, performance and safety.

Check fan motor operation. If fan motor is inoperative, and the fan blades are not damaged, the fan motor can replaced separately

INSTALLATION
1. Install radiator fan to radiator. Install retaining clip and tighten fasteners to 5 Nm (45 inch lbs.) (Fig. 24).
2. Connect radiator fan electrical connector.
3. Install upper radiator crossmember.
