Door Glass Misalignment Or Contacts The Roof
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves replacing the upper nut securing the window regulator to the door.
MODELS:
2004 - 2005 (ZH) Crossfire Coupe/Crossfire Roadster
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or before December 31, 2004 (MDH 1231XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The vehicle operator may describe that the door glass contacts the roof when opening or closing the door. This condition could also result in other side glass misalignment issues such as wind like sound or water leaks into the passenger compartment.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the technician verifies a door glass misalignment condition, perform Repair Procedure on side of vehicle where misalignment occurs.
PARTS REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Remove the trim panel and weather shield from the door. Refer to the service information available in TechCONNECT. Reference: Service Info, Group 23 - Body/Door - Front/Trim Panel - Removal.
2. Replace the upper window regulator nut with p/n 05097674AA nut (Fig. 1).
NOTE:
If p/n 05097674AA nut is not available, the technician may remove the old nut and apply pin 04318031 Mopar Lock & Seal Adhesive to the threads of the nut and install.
3. Adjust the door glass as necessary and ensure that the door glass no longer contacts the roof. Refer to the service information available in TechCONNECT. Reference: Service Info, 23 - body/Door - Front/Door Glass - Adjustments.
4. When the glass is properly adjusted, torque the upper nut to 9 N.m (80 in.lbs.).
5. Install the door trim panel. Refer to the service information available in TechCONNECT. Reference: Service Info, Group 23 - Body/Door - Front/Trim Panel - Installation.
