1173-STEERING ANGLE SENSOR - PLAUSIBILITY ERRORWhen Monitored and Set Condition
^ When Monitored: With the ignition On. The Controller Antilock Brake (CAB) monitors the status of the Steering Angle Sensor.
^ Set Condition: The Controller Antilock Brake (CAB) will set this DTC if the calculated steering angle offset is out of the specified range.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- IMPROPER WHEEL ALIGNMENT
- IMPROPERLY MOUNTED STEERING ANGLE SENSOR
- LOOSE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR

1. VISUALLY INSPECT COMPONENTS FOR DAMAGE AND CORRECT INSTALLATION
Visually inspect the Steering Angle Sensor for damage and correct installation.
Are there any visible Steering Angle Sensor concerns?
Yes >> Correct the sensor concerns as necessary Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST. ABS Verification Test
No >> Go to 2
2. MONITOR THE CAB MODULE WITH THE DRBIII
With the DRBIII, erase DTCs. Start the engine. With an assistant to drive, use the DRBIII to monitor the CAB module DTCs while performing road test.
Is the Steering Angle Sensor DTC set?
Yes >> Replace the Steering Angle Sensor. Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST. ABS Verification Test
No >> Inspect and repair the related wiring harness for a possible intermittent condition. Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST. ABS Verification Test
