Cylinder Head Assembly: Specifications

Cylinder Head
Gasket Thickness (Compressed) 1.50 mm ±0.05 mm (0.0591 inch ±0.002 in.)
Valve Seat Angle 45°-45.5°
Valve Seat Runout (Max.) 0.05 mm (0.002 in.)
Intake Valve Seat Width 1.00-1.5 mm (0.0394-0.0591 in.)
Exhaust Valve Seat Width 1.25-1.75 mm (0.0492-0.0689 in.)
Guide Bore Diameter (Std.) 5.975-6.00 mm (0.2353-0.2363 in.)
Valve Guide Height *
Intake & Exhaust 13.25-13.75 mm (0.5217-0.5414 in.)

* Measured from cylinder head surface to top of guide.






Cylinder head must be flat within:
Standard dimension = less than 0.05 mm (0.002 in.)
Service Limit = 0.2 mm (0.008 in.)
Grinding Limit = Maximum of 0.2 mm (0.008 in.) is permitted.

Intake Manifold (Upper and Lower) Bolts 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.)



2.7L:





Camshaft Bearing Cap Bolts 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.)








Exhaust Manifold
Work from center outwards 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.) (Fig. 109).

Attaching screws 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) (Fig. 109).

Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Bolts 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.)

Exhaust Manifold to Catalytic Converter V-Band Clamp 11 Nm (100 in. lbs.)










Cylinder Head Bolts
Tighten bolts in sequence shown in (Fig. 19), using the following steps and torque values:
Step 1: Bolts 1-8 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.)
Step 2: Bolts 1-8 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.)
Step 3: Bolts 1-8 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.)
Step 4: Bolts 1-8 * +90° turn
Step 5: Bolts 9-11 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.)

* Do not use a torque wrench for this step.

Catalytic Converter to Exhaust Manifold V-Band Clamp 10 Nm (100 in. lbs.)




Cylinder Head Bolts 2.7L:






Cylinder Head Cover Bolts 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.)
