Silence Application Locations
SILENCER APPLICATION LOCATIONSSilencers (petroleum-asphalt sheets) have been attached to the dash panel and the top of the floor in order to reduce vibration and to insulate against the heat from exhaust gases. In addition, RSS sheets have been placed on top of the silencers on the floor panel to further improve noise suppression. If the silencers or RSS sheets become broken during welded panel replacement or repair, cut a replacement to the shape shown in the illustration and attach it.
NOTE: RSS sheet (thermosetting plastic sheet)
This sheet is made from denatured resin with asphalt and rubber as its main components, and with a filler material also added. It is molded into sheet form to a constant thickness of 2.0 mm (0.08 in). It has the same excellent vibratory noise suppression characteristics as steel plate-type sandwiched sheets.
