Ambient Temperature Sensor Circuit:

CIRCUIT OPERATION
The ambient temperature sensor signal sent to multi-center display.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
The ambient temperature sensor circuit is suspected to be open or short.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
- Malfunction of the ambient temperature.
- Damaged harness wires and connectors

STEP 1. Check the ambient temperature sensor connector A-29 for damage

Q: Is the ambient temperature sensor connector A-29 in good condition?

YES: Go to Step 2.
NO: Repair or replace it. Refer to Harness Connector Inspection.

STEP 2. Check the harness wires between ambient temperature sensor connector A-29 and multi-center display connector C-08.

NOTE: After checking intermediate connector C-209, check the wires. If intermediate connector C-209 is damaged, repair or replace it. Refer to Harness Connector Inspection.

Q: Is the harness wires between ambient temperature sensor connector A-29 and multi-center display connector C-08 in good condition?

YES: Go to Step 3.
NO: Repair them. The multi-center display should work normally.

STEP 3. Check the ambient temperature sensor
1. Remove the front bumper.
2. Remove the ambient temperature sensor connector A-29.
3. Measure the resistance between the ambient temperature sensor connector terminals at two or more temperature condition.

Q: Does the resistance value exist within the characteristic graph?

YES: There is no action to be taken.
NO: Replace the ambient temperature sensor.
