SUBJECT:
OBDII Freeze Frame Data Reads Incorrectly

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new software.

MODELS:

2002 (LH) Concorde/Intrepid/300M

NOTE:
THIS INFORMATION APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO AUGUST 27, 2001 (MDH 0827XX).

NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN SHOULD BE PERFORMED ON ALL IN-STOCK/IN-TRANSIT VEHICLES AND CUSTOMER VEHICLES IN FOR OTHER SERVICE.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

OBDII freeze frame data reads incorrectly on the Scan Tool (DRB III(R)) in generic mode only (DRBIII(R) in proprietary mode reads correctly).

DIAGNOSIS:

If Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) are present, record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin. If the vehicle was built before the date listed above, perform the Repair Procedure.

NOTE:
THE MDS2 MUST BE OPERATING WITH CIS CD2090 OR HIGHER.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Flash the PCM using the MDS2 (Mopar Diagnostic System) and DRB Ill� (Scan Tool).

NOTE:
THE FOLLOWING STEPS ARE REQUIRED BY LAW.








2. Type the necessary information on the "authorized Software Update Label" p/n 04669020 (Fig. 1). Attach the label to the PCM and cover the label with the clear plastic overlay. Type the necessary information on the "Authorized Modification Label" p/n 04275086 (Fig. 2) and attach the label near the VECI label.
