Headlamp Unit Replacement

REMOVAL
Concorde/300M

NOTE: Headlamp lens fogging is a normal condition and does not require service unless excessive or continual. Moisture will vent from tubes or vents located on the back of the lamp.

1. Release hood latch and open hood.
2. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
3. Remove the headlamp sight shield (300M).

4. Remove the upper crossmember attachments, both sides, headlamp jackscrews, windshield filler neck screw, and speed control servo screw (Fig. 31).
5. Lift and prop the crossmember above the headlamp on the side being serviced, and remove the electrical connectors from the headlamp.
6. Pull headlamp up and under crossmember to remove it from the vehicle.

Intrepid

1. Release hood latch and open hood.
2. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.

3. Remove jackscrews attaching headlamp to body (Fig. 32).
4. Remove headlamp from body.
5. Disconnect wire connector from headlamp and parking, side marker, and turn signal lamps.
6. Remove headlamp housing from vehicle.

INSTALLATION
Concorde/300M

CAUTION: Do not touch the glass of halogen bulbs with fingers or other possibly oily surface, reduced bulb life will result.

NOTE: If replacing complete headlamp unit, transfer halogen bulb to new unit.

1. Put headlamp under crossmember to install it into the vehicle.
2. Install the electrical connectors to the headlamp, and lower the crossmember on the side being serviced.
3. Install the upper crossmember attachments, both sides, headlamp jackscrews, windshield filler neck screw, and speed control servo screw.
4. Install the headlamp sight shield (300M).
5. Connect and the battery negative cable.
6. Verify headlamp operation and alignment.
7. Close hood.

Intrepid

NOTE: Headlamp lens fogging is a normal condition and does not require service unless excessive or continual. Moisture will vent from tubes or vents located on the back of the lamp.

1. Place headlamp housing in position on vehicle.
2. Connect wire connectors to headlamp, parking, side marker, and turn signal lamps.
3. Place headlamp in position on body.
4. Install screws to attach headlamp to body.
5. Connect the battery negative cable and close hood
6. Verify headlamp operation and alignment.
