Radiator: Testing and Inspection

DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING - RADIATOR COOLANT FLOW
To determine whether coolant is flowing through the cooling system, use the following procedure:
^ If engine is cold, first idle the engine until normal operating temperature is reached.
^ Check temperature of the radiator upper hose. If hose is hot, coolant is circulating.

WARNING: DO NOT REMOVE COOLANT PRESSURE CAP WITH THE SYSTEM HOT AND UNDER PRESSURE BECAUSE SERIOUS BURNS FROM COOLANT CAN OCCUR.
