Compressor HVAC: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Recover refrigerant from A/C system.
2. Disconnect negative battery cable and isolate it.

3. Remove refrigerant lines from compressor.
NOTE: Cap lines while system is open to prevent moisture from entering system.
4. Raise and support vehicle.
5. Remove drive belt. Refer to: "Engine, Cooling and Exhaust : Engine : Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories : Drive Belt : Service and Repair" Service and Repair
6. Disconnect compressor clutch wire lead.

7. Remove four compressor mounting bolts and lower compressor from vehicle.
INSTALLATION
CAUTION: Add only new lubricant when system requires additional lubricant. Do not use old reclaimed lubricant.
1. Position the compressor onto the bracket.
2. Install the compressor mounting bolts.
3. Remove protective caps if installed.
4. Install the compressor refrigerant lines.
5. Connect the compressor wire connector.
6. Install the drive belts. Refer to: "Engine, Cooling and Exhaust : Engine : Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories : Drive Belt : Service and Repair" Service and Repair
7. Connect the battery negative cable.
8. Tighten the compressor mounting bolts to 28 Nm (250 in lbs).
9. Tighten the compressor lines to 12 Nm (108 in lbs).
10. Evacuate the refrigerant system.
11. Recharge the A/C system if needed.
