Manifold Vacuum Gauge Test

MANIFOLD VACUUM CHECK
1. Before inspection, set vehicles in the following condition:
- Engine coolant temperature: 80 - 95° (176 - 203° F)
- Lights*, electric cooling fan and accessories: OFF
- Transaxle: P range
*: In vehicles for Canada, the headlight, tail light, etc. will remain lit even when the lighting switch is turned OFF - but this is no problem.
2. Connect 'the scan tool to the data link connector.





3. Remove the plug of the manifold vacuum connector assembly, and then connect a vacuum gauge.
4. Start the engine and check that idle speed is within specification.

Curb idle speed: 750 ± 100 R/min

5. Check.the manifold vacuum.

Limit: min. 60 kPa (18 inch Hg)
