SYMPTOM
P0340 - NO CAM SIGNAL AT PCM

WHEN MONITORED
During engine cranking, after a number of Crankshaft Position Sensor signals have been detected

SET CONDITION
Signals are not received from the Camshaft Position Sensor when signals are received from the Crankshaft Position Sensor.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Engine does not start
- 8 volt supply circuit open, shorted to ground, or high resistance
- CMP terminals damaged, pushed out, or miswired
- Wiring and connectors damaged
- Camshaft target magnet damaged/misaligned
- Pulse ring damaged or misaligned
- CMP sensor signal circuit shorted to sensor ground
- CMP sensor signal circuit shorted to 8 volt power supply
- CMP sensor signal circuit open
- CMP sensor signal circuit shorted to ground
- CMP sensor defective
- PCM defective
