SYMPTOM
FUEL LEVEL SENDING CIRCUIT ERROR
TEST NOTE
This symptom is diagnosed using the test FUEL LEVEL SENDING CIRCUIT ERROR.
WHEN MONITORED
With the ignition key ON and battery voltage greater than 10 volts.
SET CONDITION
The voltage at the fuel level sending unit input to the body control module exceeds 95% of battery voltage for over 10 seconds.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Fuel level sensor ground circuit open
- BCM fuel level sense input circuit defective
- Fuel level sensor signal short to ground
- Tank and sending unit defective
- DRB displays ram fault
- DRB shows bus operational failure
- MIC cluster mismatch
- Defective low fuel lamp bulb
- Fuel level sending unit defective
- Fuel level sensor defective
- Fuel level sensor signal circuit open
- Fuel tank sending unit defective
- Open fuel level CKT
- BCM low fuel lamp circuit input defective
- DEF BCM low fuel LP CKT input
- BCM fuel level sense signal input CKT defective
- BCM fuel level sensor input CKT DEF
- BCM fuel level sensor signal CKT defective
- Defective cluster circuit board
- Fuel tank sending unit defective
- System ok at this time
