SYMPTOM
P1686 - NO SKIM BUS MESSAGE RECEIVED

WHEN MONITORED
At ignition key ON and continuously during engine operation.

SET CONDITION
This condition exists when a SKIM status bus message was not received from the SKIM module within the last 20 seconds.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Wiring harness intermittent defect
- PCI Bus circuit open from PCM to SKIM
- PCM defective
