SYMPTOM
P1683 - SPEED CONTROL POWER RELAY OR S/C 12V DRIVER CIRCUIT

TEST NOTE
This symptom is diagnosed using the test P1595 - SPEED CONTROL SOLENOID CIRCUITS.

WHEN MONITORED
With the ignition key ON and the speed control switched ON.

SET CONDITION
The speed control power supply circuit is either open or shorted to ground.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Speed control
- Ground circuit at S/C servo connector open
- S/C wiring harness intermittent defect (S/C VAC solenoid AC)
- S/C vacuum solenoid control circuit open
- S/C vacuum solenoid control circuit short to ground
- S/C vent solenoid control circuit open
- S/C vent solenoid control circuit short to ground
- S/C wiring harness intermittent defect (S/C vent solenoid AC)
- S/C wiring harness observable defect
- S/C servo defective (12 volt driver circuit)
- S/C power supply circuit open
- S/C power supply circuit shorted to ground
- Brake switch defective
- Brake switch out of adjustment
- S/C brake switch output circuit open
- S/C brake switch output circuit shorted to ground
- PCM defective
- PCM defective (12 volt driver circuit)
