SYMPTOM
P1492 - AMBIENT/BATTERY TEMPERATURE SENSOR VOLTS TOO HIGH

WHEN MONITORED
With the ignition key ON, the Body Control Module (BCM) transmits temperature data to the PCM via the J1850 bus circuit.

SET CONDITION
The PCM senses abnormally high or low voltage on its input.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Wiring harness intermittent problem
- Ambient temperature sensor signal circuit open
- Ambient temperature sensor signal circuit shorted to ground
- Ambient temperature sensor signal circuit shorted to the sensor ground circuit
- Sensor ground circuit open
- Sensor ground circuit open partially shorted to ground
- Ambient temperature sensor defective
- BCM
