Trailing Arm: Description and Operation
DESCRIPTION
There is one trailing arm on each side of the vehicle. It spans from the spindle forward to the frame rail and rear torque box. The trailing arm attaches to the rear spindle through a bracket which is bolted to the bottom of the spindle. The trailing arm attaches to the body using a bracket attached to the frame rail and rear torque box. The trailing arm has rubber isolator bushings at each end to isolate suspension noise from the body of the vehicle.
OPERATION
The purpose of the trailing arm is to control the fore-and-aft movement of the spindle.
